ABOUT US
Welcome
We welcome you to the PCO, Salalah (English Speaking Congregation) in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! This is a multi-denominational, multi-cultural and multi-national Christian church. We are Bible based, Christ centered, Spirit led and committed to building relationships – with God through Jesus and with each other. We believe that you read this page or come to Salalah, not by accident, but by divine appointment. We look forward to getting to know you.
” …you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9
What We Believe
We believe in the expression of the Christian faith contained in the Apostles’ Creed and Nicene Creed. We believe in the Triune God. There is only one God, but he always has and always will exist in three persons – Father, Son, and Spirit – all of whom are equally Go
We believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, fully divine and fully human. We accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. Only Jesus has the power to save. His name is the only one in all the world that can save anyone.
We are committed to maintaining the unity of Christ’s Church and to being his witnesses in word and deed.
We believe in the Holy Spirit who continues Jesus’ earthly ministry, especially that of transforming believers and empowering them to fulfill their mission. We believe that God’s people are joined together in Christ into a new community, the Church. We believe that the church is called to be biblically rooted, grace centered and culturally connected.
We believe in the authority of the Bible. Human authors did not think these things up on their own, but they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, God is the divine author of the Bible. The Scriptures alone are the final authority for faith and practice.
Who We Are
We are a congregation of Christians from many nations, backgrounds and church traditions, who accept the expression of the Christian faith contained in the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds.
Worshiping together is a rich and rewarding experience and gives us a taste of the kingdom of God which is international in scope.
Although we speak many different languages we use English as our common language.
Protestant is synonymous with Evangelical. We seek to be faithful to the Good News of Jesus Christ and to the Scriptures. We are a local body of the universal Christian church, devoting ourselves to worship, prayer, Bible study, fellowship and outreach, and sharing in the Communion and in giving.
